Can you believe that Labor Day is only a couple of weeks away? I know I’ve been styling Fall Transition Outfits lately, but I was still shocked when I saw that Labor Day was almost here. I consider Labor Day the official start to fall, although the actual date is September 22nd. Today, my chinos and a striped shirt outfit is one that will be great for a Labor Day event.
Labor Day means cookouts, hot dogs and hamburgers, plus lots of sales. This year, it also means that Joe and I will be on our way to California for a few days of relaxing by the pool. I’m looking forward to some downtime while I’m soaking up the sunshine. My blogging bestie, Jennifer, lives in California but, unfortunately, not near where we’ll be going. She and I are looking for a place to meet up, and we would love to have some gorgeous fall foliage. If you have any suggestions, PLEASE leave a comment.
CHINOS AND A STRIPED SHIRT FOR SUMMER
Today, I thought I would share a casual and relaxed look for summer, styling a pair of Chinos and a Striped Shirt. I have gotten away from wearing button-down shirts, and I can’t figure out why since they are a classic. You can wear a button-down shirt in so many ways; it is extremely versatile. I styled a 1 shirt 3 ways a couple of years ago to highlight its versatility, so check that out if you have time. This French Blue Striped Poplin Shirt is lightweight but not see-through, and I love rolling up the sleeves for summer. Joe hates short-sleeve button-down shirts and refuses to wear them. Instead, he rolls up the sleeves, and I love the relaxed, laid-back vibe.
The striped shirt is 100% cotton and seems to run TTS. I’m wearing a large and I like the fit. Here you can see the length of the shirt. I love wearing this shirt over a pair of navy leggings; I think it is casual and relaxed, but the shirt dresses the look up a little.
To complete an outfit, you need to add accessories. The Sophee Drop Earrings, the Reversible Pendant Letter Necklace, and the 18Kt. Gold Vermeil Cross Necklace are all from Kendra Scott, and I wear them almost daily.
You’re probably going to see me carrying my Brahmin Croc Embossed Leather Satchel a lot more this fall. Joe bought this for me (sort of) for Valentine’s Day, but I felt like it was a fall bag, so I haven’t carried it this summer. Now that fall is almost here; I find myself reaching for it all of the time. The quality is fantastic, and I love the gorgeous croc-embossed design. I just ordered myself a pair of Vince Camuto Slingbacks that I’m hoping will match. I don’t care if you aren’t supposed to match your bag to our shoes; I think it looks classy and stylish.
You can’t style Chinos and a Striped Shirt without the chinos. Lol! I just got these Flat Front Light Beige Chinos from Banana Republic Factory, and I’ve already worn them three times. They have a relaxed look, which is trending, and they are great pants to throw on with almost anything. You can style these pants in fall by adding a pair of boots, a sweater, or maybe a jacket. I’m wearing a size 8, and I think these fit great. The chinos are also available in navy and an olive green color which will work perfectly for fall.
The Pointed Toe Mules with the chunky chain detail are super cute, and I also have them in Glen Plaid. These slide on, and I’m pleasantly pleased that they don’t fly off my feet when I walk. Lol! I’ve never been a fan of mules, but these might be the pair that makes me change my mind. They run TTS, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.
