Metaverse Fashion Week’s second iteration was a partnership between the Decentraland Foundation and additional metaverses such as Spatial and Over the Reality. Threediem’s 3D engine helped Coach create a gamified experience centered around the brand’s hero Tabby bag. The event showcased emerging cross-platform capabilities of digital wearables, with Tommy Hilfiger’s space focused on commerce while adidas’ game was community-focused. The hottest topic of the moment, artificial intelligence (AI), was also integrated into Metaverse Fashion Week. Spatial created an immersive showroom for Hugo Boss, while Over The Reality participated in the event with an AR runway show in Milan’s Piazza del Duomo. The event highlighted that the metaverse does not exist in silos but is inextricably tied to the real world, with Monnier Paris and Republiq teaming up on a design competition for Web3 fashion creators, and Winston Bartholomew of House of Barth closing the event with a virtual runway show. Philipp Plein presented his new Swiss-made Crypto King watches at Clocks and Wonders in Geneva while hosting a simultaneous activation in Decentraland.
