In recent years, environmental concerns have taken center stage in public discourse. While governments and NGOs have been working tirelessly to address these issues, it is important to note that individuals also have a role to play. The Environment Social Governance (ESG) Summit, hosted by Prakruti Environment Research & Protection Centre, was held on 28th March 2023, in New Delhi, to promote environmental conservation and sustainability. The event brought together more than 700 delegates consisting of experts, thought leaders, and enthusiasts who shared knowledge, exchanged ideas, and collaborated on various aspects of environmental conservation and sustainability.
At the ESG Summit, Chief Guest Shri Parshottam Rupala ji, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, inaugurated the event. The Guest of Honor in the summit were Mrs. Locket Chatterjee, Member of Parliament, Hooghly, Bengal, Shri Dipsinh Rathod, Member of Parliament, Sabarkantha, Gujarat, Shri Krishna Vidhyarthi Sahu Maharaj, Mahant, Shri Valmiki Ashram, Delhi, Padma Shri Dr. Anuradha Paudwal and Mrs. Srimathi Shivashankar, Corporate Vice President, HCL Technologies.
The ESG Summit also promoted and generated awareness about \’एकपेड़ देशके नाम\’ – One Tree for Nation, the nationwide campaign by Paryawaran Savrakshan Gatividhi, attended by Shri Gopal Arya ji, National Convenor, Paryawaran Savrakshan Gatividhi. The global initiatives encouraged and accelerated in order to combat climate change and Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) were highlighted, an international mass movement towards “mindful and deliberate utilization instead of mindless and destructive consumption” to protect and preserve the environment under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The Key Note Speakers featured a diverse group of experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders who offered their insights and solutions to these critical environmental issues. The topics discussed were on Climate Change, Sustainable Living, Biodiversity Conversation, Renewable Energy, and Environmental Policies. Keynote speakers shared their insights into best practices, trends, and innovations in ESG and discussed ways to overcome the challenges associated with implementing ESG strategies.
The ESG Summit marked the launch of “Khadisutra” authored by Mr. Nachiiket Joshi, an informative book on Khadi, highlighting the importance of sustainable fashion and inspired by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. “It was inspiring to see so many leaders come together to discuss the importance of ESG and share their experiences and knowledge about initiatives in India under the leadership of our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji,” said Mr. Nachiket Joshi, Founder & Chairman of Khaddargram International Pvt. Ltd.
The conference also provided an opportunity for networking and collaboration among attendees.
