Austin, Texas – SXSW, South by South West (SXSW2017) is approaching and there is a big lineup of fashion technology happening from March 11-13. Anina Net, CEO of 360Fashion Network will be speaking at the “Fashion Hardware on the Cutting Edge of Innovation” panel on March 12th, at 11AM, at the JW Mariott Hotel in Austin, Texas on #FTHardware.
“Having just mass manufactured 162 gesture recognition smart gloves for Intel’s cooperation with CCTV Spring Festival “Spring Wind” performance, I want to share my experience in working with the factories under tight deadlines with the audience.” says Anina Net. “I see so many Kickstarter/Indigogo hardware companies ready to create great products for the market, but not understanding the process they are about to go through in order to birth their dream. That’s where a lot of ideas die: on the factory floor before they ever get out the door to a customer, due to poor vetting, preparation, and understanding of the manufacturing process.”
Working Hard
SXSW
“Working on the Intel + 360Fashion Network smart glove project, was only possible because we could control the entire supply chain. We had great factory partners willing to go the extra mile to support us. Without their cooperation we could never have overcome the many problems that arise during the process–and after. It completely changed my idea of what factories are and how to interact with them.” says Anina Net. “I have personally invested 8 years with our company in China in order to get to this point. Having built a solid network of government, fashion factories, designers, technology professionals, suppliers, we are able to deliver high quality manufacturing of fashion products with solid technology inside. We are now able to start to produce mass market products and through our American mother company, bring them to the worldwide market.”
“Additionally, for fashion tech to take off, we need to work with manufacturers in order to create new materials that are more suitable for fashion garments and accessories. We need to remove the pain of soldering, coding, and allow fashion designers to work on what they are good at: integration and design of prototypes. I will be speaking about our fashion tech maker kits and how they are enabling fashion designers to step into IoT smart garments. I will also be sharing my experience with fashion designers using our #LEDRibbon where we have integrated the electronic components into the textile through weaving. The products that are coming out are really top quality and market worthy.” shares Anina Net. “I”m super excited to attend SXSW also because it has a strong film and music component: the perfect clients for fashion tech clothing and accessories!”
Anina Net will be pleased to attend SXSW 2017 and thanks Switch Embassy for the kind invitation to participate on the panel.
