Beijing, China – 360Fashion & Tech “Fashion Tech Forum” Event
Yesterday the 360Fashion & Tech Forum was a total success. So many high-level people came to visit: investors from health tech, fashion tech, and the government to join the Fashion Tech Forum, along with fashion designers, consultants to brands and engineers from the tech industry. We shared a lot of really deep information about sensor technology about design thinking about how to get started in trashing tag about bringing meaning to the fashion and a technology merging together. Some interesting questions and comments from the audience, especially from the health tech industry.
The Fashion Tech Forum Guests and Comments
Tim Quek (investor) mentioned that the whole direction in health tech is home health care and his comment was that when you have technology in the home, you also need it to look beautiful. “Who wants to wear a hospital pajama at home?” Was one of his comments from the Fashion Tech Forum Q & A. Today most of the health tech looks really terrible so when you look in the mirror you are so will feel like you’re sick. If you inject design on top of the health tech then you have a huge market.
Other questions came from fashion designers asking about the LED Ribbon (ledribbon.360fashion.net) and if it is possible to wash the ribbon and what is the battery life of the LED Ribbon and also if there is any way to construct of the garment so that you could remove it all of which of course are possible with the LED ribbon.
Biman Najika Liyanage, Azreal, Annaelle, and Laurent Hou, all gave great answers at the Fashion Tech Forum about their experience in creating and communicating the smart gloves solution shown on the catwalk at Beijing fashion week during the Azriel YM fashion show. The smart glove is the first to debate based on the Intel Curie technology 360Fashion Network developed for the Intel CCTV cooperation during the last Chinese New Year.
The design thinking from Azreal and how they were really analyzing the idea of removing the obviousness of the hardware technology feeling by adding the crystals to the glove was interesting to hear. The talked about how impressed they were from the technology standpoint how 360Fashion Network was able to get it into such a small package with so much power.
Laurent Hou really talked about how to visually communicate the technology through photography and his photos showed the functionality and spirit of the smart glove. He gave some insight also into how the professional dancers he chose for the shooting gave life beyond what he had originally sketched out with their emotions blended with the time lapse photography in studio. In fact Laurent’s photos perfectly embody the idea of technology communicating with the wearer.
We had a small exhibition which showcased many of our works, new materials, and the Dance Glove 360Fashion Network designed for the Intel video which featured two top performance artists from China.
The feedback that we got from everyone who attended was that it was an outstanding event and people learned about fashion and technology merging. So many comments on wechat about how it was an excellent event, how they loved the exhibition and definitely our cooperation with Esmod Beijing will continue!
Thank you to our sponsors the China Wine Cellar and Planet Choco and our presenter China Fashion Group and many thanks to Aizhan Raimbekova for the photos.
