- By the time latex dried on her body, a remarkably futuristic dress had emerged.
American supermodel Bella Hadid had a futuristic spray-on slip dress spray-painted live on her body Friday when she walked the runway during Coperni Spring Summer 2023 collection fashion show at the Paris Fashion Week. Several videos and pictures from her catwalk adventure have emerged ever since on the internet.
“Bella Hadid x some McQueen fashion nostalgia at Coperni Spring 2023. What a moment,” an Instagram account named Diet Prada said in a post.
The now viral video shows Hadid entering the runway originally topless, wearing just a thing and a pair of high heels. The model walked in covering her breasts with her arm.
Bella Hadid IS the iconic moment in fashion industry
The clip then shows the 25-year-old getting spray painted on her body by two designated artists. Later, when the thick layer of opaque, white latex dried up, another crew member could be seen cutting into her dress and voila – a futuristic mid-length spray-on dress with a thigh-high slit came into existence in real-time.
The model eventually strutted down a hall full of photographers and guests clicking away on their cameras in awe of what has been described as a “game-changing” moment that stole the show at Paris Fashion Week.
Coperni, the womenswear brand behind the dress, is an ultra-modern Parisian label by French designers Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant.
“It’s our celebration of women’s silhouettes from centuries past,” Coperni CEO and co-founder Vaillant said in a preview on Zoom ahead of the show. “And we wanted to update our aesthetic in a more grown-up and scientific way, too,” Meyer added, according to a Vogue report.
