The neurologist also suggested in his tweets to take home hair wash and even if you are going for salon hair wash, one should make sure that to not extend the neck backwards and keep their head supported by a towel. He also suggested not bending the head more than 20 degrees.

Further talking about the case involving the Hyderabad woman, Dr Sudhir Kumar tweeted, “A diagnosis of #beauty #parlor stroke syndrome involving right PICA territory was made. Possible mechanism is kinking of vertebral artery during hyperextension & turning of neck towards wash-basin while washing hair with shampoo. She had well controlled #Hypertension too.”

The neurologist from Hyderabad also suggested that this syndrome has been reported since 1993, and it needs awareness amongst the public so that they can be aware of how to take care of themselves properly and in the right way.
