Thankfully, the admittedly off-putting fragrances did not take away from how the glosses felt on my lips. To test them out, I grabbed Be My Honey Pepper first because of its glistening gilded hue — that, and clear shimmery glosses are just my jam. Once I glided the slightly angled doe-foot applicator across my lips, I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly it applied. Its non-sticky formula added a film of gloss to the lips, and thankfully I couldn’t smell or taste a hint of its scent once it was on. The formula is pigmented enough that you don’t have to endlessly swipe it on for color payoff. The gloss that looked golden in the tube transformed into a transparent shade full of golden flecks when applied to my lips.
Honey BBQ-T left a light sheen of plum pigment on my lips. I could definitely smell this gloss, but like Be My Honey Pepper, it was nowhere near as strong on as was in the tube.
All in all the, Saucy Glosses felt moisturizing and comfortable on the lips without any tackiness or stickiness. Also, I do love the four shades Winky Lux and Applebee’s chose for this launch. As for the scents, I’m not as much of a fan. They are wing-inspired glosses at the end of the day, but I would gladly do without the scents — barbeque sauce might smell great when it’s emanating from a smokehouse but it’s not the same when it’s coming out of a lip gloss container. The Saucy Glosses may not smell ideal, but they will leave your lips looking gorgeous and glossy whether you’re sipping on a coffee or eating a plate of wings.
