The Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Summit 2023: A Gathering of Experts, Innovators, and Advocates
On 28th March 2023, the Prakruti Environment Research & Protection Centre held the Environment Social Governance (ESG) Summit 2023, which brought together over 700 delegates from different parts of the world. The summit aimed to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and collaborate on various aspects of environmental conservation and sustainability.
The summit was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Parshottam Rupala ji, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, and it saw the arrival of dignitaries such as Mrs. Locket Chatterjee, Member of Parliament, Hooghly, Bengal, Shri Dipsinh Rathod, Member of Parliament, Sabarkantha, Gujarat, and Shri Krishna Vidhyarthi Sahu Maharaj, Mahant, Shri Valmiki Ashram, Delhi. Other notable personalities in attendance were Padma Shri Dr. Anuradha Paudwal and Mrs. Srimathi Shivashankar, Corporate Vice President, HCL Technologies.
The summit promoted and generated awareness about ‘एकपेड़ देशके नाम’ – One Tree for Nation, the nationwide campaign by Paryawaran Savrakshan Gatividhi, which aims to plant more trees in India. The campaign received great support from the attendees of the summit, and it made them realize the importance of planting trees for a sustainable environment.
Furthermore, the summit emphasized the global initiatives encouraged and accelerated in order to combat climate change and Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE), an international mass movement towards “mindful and deliberate utilization instead of mindless and destructive consumption” to protect and preserve the environment, under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The Keynote Speakers featured a diverse group of experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders who offered their insights and solutions to critical environmental issues. The topics discussed were Climate Change, Sustainable Living, Biodiversity Conservation, Renewable Energy, and Environmental Policies. Keynote speakers shared their insights on best practices, trends, and innovations in ESG, and discussed ways to overcome the challenges associated with implementing ESG strategies.
The summit marked the launch of “Khadisutra” authored by Mr. Nachiiket Joshi. The informative book on Khadi highlighted the importance of sustainable fashion and was inspired by Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. The launch of the book at the summit signified the importance of sustainable fashion and how it can contribute to a better environment.

The conference also provided an opportunity for networking and collaboration among attendees. Participants were able to connect with like-minded professionals, helping to advance ESG initiatives.
