The Environment Social Governance (ESG) Summit 2023: Promoting Sustainable Living and Environmental Conservation
On March 28th, 2023, the Prakruti Environment Research & Protection Centre hosted the 2023 Environment Social Governance (ESG) Summit at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. Over 700 attendees, comprising of experts, thought leaders, and enthusiasts, gathered to share knowledge, exchange ideas and collaborations on a variety of topics concerning environmental conservation and sustainability.
The summit was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Parshottam Rupala ji, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Government of India. The Guest of Honour included Mrs. Locket Chatterjee, Member of Parliament, Hooghly, Bengal, Shri Dipsinh Rathod, Member of Parliament, Sabarkantha, Gujarat, Shri Krishna Vidhyarthi Sahu Maharaj, Mahant, Shri Valmiki Ashram, Delhi, Padma Shri Dr. Anuradha Paudwal and Mrs. Srimathi Shivashankar, Corporate Vice President, HCL Technologies.
The summit aimed to promote and raise awareness about the nationwide campaign called ‘एकपेड़ देशके नाम’ – One Tree for Nation, which is driven by Paryawaran Savrakshan Gatividhi. Shri Gopal Arya ji, National Convenor, Paryawaran Savrakshan Gatividhi, was among the attendees at the summit.
Moreover, the conference highlighted the global initiatives encouraged and accelerated to combat climate change, as well as Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE), an international mass movement towards “mindful and deliberate utilization instead of mindless and destructive consumption” to protect and preserve the environment under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Keynote speakers featured a diverse group of experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders who offered their insights and solutions to these critical environmental issues. Topics discussed were on Climate Change, Sustainable Living, Biodiversity Conversation, Renewable Energy, and Environmental Policies. Keynote speakers shared their insights on best practices, trends, and innovations in ESG and discussed ways to overcome the challenges associated with implementing ESG strategies.
The summit marked the launch of “Khadisutra,” authored by Mr. Nachiiket Joshi, an informative book on Khadi, highlighting the importance of sustainable fashion and inspired by Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji.
“It was inspiring to see so many leaders come together to discuss the importance of ESG and share their experiences and knowledge about initiatives in India under the leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji,” said Mr. Nachiket Joshi, Founder & Chairman of Khaddargram International Pvt. The conference also provided an opportunity for networking and collaboration among attendees. Participants were able to connect with like-minded professionals, which can help advance ESG initiatives.
