The Environment Social Governance (ESG) Summit 2023: A Call to Action for Environmental Conservation and Sustainability
On 28th March 2023, the Prakruti Environment Research & Protection Centre hosted the Environment Social Governance (ESG) Summit 2023 at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, in New Delhi. The summit, attended by over 700 delegates of experts, thought leaders, and enthusiasts, aimed to promote and generate awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability in India and globally.
The summit was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Parshottam Rupala ji, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, and key dignitaries present were Mrs Locket Chatterjee, Member of Parliament, Hooghly, Bengal, Shri Dipsinh Rathod, Member of Parliament, Sabarkantha, Gujarat, Shri Krishna Vidhyarthi Sahu Maharaj, Mahant, Shri Valmiki Ashram, Delhi, Padma Shri Dr. Anuradha Paudwal, and Mrs. Srimathi Shivashankar, Corporate Vice President, HCL Technologies.
The summit focused on ‘एकपेड़ देशके नाम’- One Tree for Nation, a nationwide campaign by Paryawaran Savrakshan Gatividhi, attended by Shri Gopal Arya ji, National Convenor, Paryawaran Savrakshan Gatividhi. The campaign’s aim is to generate awareness about the importance of planting trees, in line with the international movement called ‘Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE),’ under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The ESG Summit 2023 highlighted the global initiatives encouraged and accelerated to combat climate change, with a focus on Climate Change, Sustainable Living, Biodiversity Conservation, Renewable Energy, and Environmental Policies. The keynote speakers, a diverse group of experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders, shared their insights and solutions to environmental issues. They discussed best practices, trends, and innovations in ESG and ways to overcome the challenges associated with implementing ESG strategies.
The ESG Summit 2023 also marked the launch of “Khadisutra,” an informative book on Khadi, a sustainable fashion concept, authored by Mr. Nachiiket Joshi and inspired by Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji.
The summit provided an excellent opportunity for networking and collaboration among attendees. Participants were able to connect with like-minded professionals to help advance ESG initiatives.
