Adding Color To My Wardrobe With Talbots: A Try-On Mix-and-Match Haul
As someone who loves adding color to my wardrobe, I was excited to go on a try-on haul at Talbots. I wanted to show different ways to mix and match tops with one pair of white shorts. But as soon as I walked into the store, a pair of pink pants caught my eye. Little did I know how much they would change the entire look of my outfit.
In this post, I’ll be sharing my favorite outfits that I tried on at Talbots. I’ll also be providing links and sizing information to make it easier for you to shop. Let’s get started!
Cotton Button Front Shirt – Fanciful Paisley
The first item that caught my eye was this Fanciful Paisley cotton button-front shirt. Talbots is known for their eye-catching prints, and this shirt did not disappoint. I love the combination of colors on this shirt – it’s perfect for adding a pop of color to any outfit.
A button-front shirt is such a versatile piece of clothing. You can check out my previous post where I shared six ways to style a white button-up shirt for more inspiration. I tried on a size medium, and it fit me perfectly. The length of the shirt falls just right on my frame. This lightweight top is not see-through, so you can wear it without worrying about any undergarments being visible.
Girlfriend Denim Shorts
I paired the cotton button-front shirt with Talbots’ Girlfriend Denim Shorts, and I fell in love with the 9″ length. You can even unroll the cuff to make the length 11 1/2″ if you prefer a longer length. These shorts are available in plus and petite sizes, so everyone can find the perfect fit.
Aurora Pink Perfect Crops
I was surprised to see the difference a pair of pants can make to an outfit. The Aurora Pink Perfect Crops transformed the entire look of my outfit. I wore my usual size 8, and I think they fit and look great. I read some reviews online where people thought they were too baggy, but I actually like the relaxed fit – it’s very in fashion right now.
Gingham Shirt
Gingham is always a fun spring and summer print, and I have a few different gingham shirts in my wardrobe. I loved this diagonal patterned gingham shirt from Talbots. The slimming seams and the pattern down the placket make the shirt stand out. Black and pink are always a great color combination, and the pink crops changed the entire look of the outfit.
Non-Iron Sleeveless Perfect Shirt
This Non-Iron Sleeveless Perfect Shirt is another classic and preppy-looking outfit perfect for the summer. The shirt is lightweight and wouldn’t add any extra warmth. It’s a great choice for those living in hotter areas. The shirt’s thinness is perfect for layering for those who want to add a little extra warmth.
Stained Glass Medallion Band Collar Popover
The Stained Glass Medallion Band Collar Popover was a standout top during my try-on haul. The top is lightweight and thin enough to be perfect for summertime wear. It’s long sleeves make it perfect for those who don’t like showing their arms. The top’s hem is curved, making walking, and sitting in it more comfortable.
Smocked Cuff Blouse
This Smocked Cuff Blouse is undoubtedly the dressiest of the tops that I tried on. The print is bold and gorgeous, and the smocking detail at the cuffs is beautiful. It will also look great with dark denim jeans, a perfect casual Friday outfit. However, I’m on the fence about pairing this blouse with cotton twill crops; the blouse seems too dressy for such casual trousers. But the colors match great, and I’d love to know your thoughts on this outfit pair.
In Conclusion
I hope that my Talbots try-on haul has been helpful in giving you some styling inspiration! My favorite outfit was the Cotton Button Front Shirt – Fanciful Paisley paired with the Aurora Pink Perfect Crops. What was your favorite outfit? Do you prefer the white shorts or the pink crops?
