Barbara Palvin redefined what it means to look sharp at the Venice Film Festival on Wednesday. While walking the red carpet with Dylan Sprouse at the “White Noise” opening ceremony, Palvin held her head high to show off the stunning updo achieved by her hairstylist, Owen Gould. Like a wearable work of art, the model’s hair was slicked back into an elaborate bun composed of angular wisps and sharp curls that easily could have been mistaken for an abstract sculpture.
Gould set Palvin’s hair, which was held together with expertly placed bobby pins, with a shimmering hairspray that made her serpentine bun glisten under the flash of the cameras. Despite what gravity had to say, Palvin’s hair stayed perfectly in place during every pose, head turn, and even kiss with Sprouse on the red carpet. With carefully molded locks of hair looping and curling in every direction, Palvin’s makeup artist, Charlotte Prevel, knew exactly how to complement the dramatic look. Keeping her makeup simple, Palvin wore light-pink eyeshadow, subtle blush, a glossy carnation-pink lip, and thick, pointed eyeliner so sharp we could only dream of re-creating such precision.
Palvin’s outfit for the evening was a black sequin Armani Privé gown from the brand’s spring/summer 2019 collection. She styled the floor-length dress with a black clutch and heeled sandals. Sprouse walked alongside Palvin in a two-button suit layered over a white button-up shirt and a black bowtie.
See the model’s stunning updo and equally elaborate makeup on the Venice Film Festival red carpet ahead.
